Nov 06, 03:28Nepal announced an Integrated Anti-Cyber Scam Response Centre at the Nepal Police Cyber Bureau in Samakhusi to combat online financial fraud. The 24/7 centre will include police, Nepal Rastra Bank, banks, telecom firms and payment providers to classify complaints, freeze accounts, disable SIM cards and block phishing domains within minutes.
Home Ministry Backs Plan
Nov 03, 02:09Nepal Police said the Ministry of Home Affairs had responded positively to its proposal for an Integrated Cyber Scam Response Centre. Police said the public lost more than Rs 2 billion to cyber fraud last fiscal year, while only about Rs 180 million was recovered.
Anti-Scam Center Planned
Oct 29, 09:15Nepal Police said it was preparing an integrated anti-scam centre at the Cyber Bureau in Samakhusi, with banks, wallet operators and telecom companies involved to freeze suspicious transfers quickly. The plan came amid reports of more than Rs 4 billion in scam-related losses over three fiscal years.
