Nepal Drug Trafficking Wave

Police arrested 25 people in coordinated drug operations across 10 districts and seized suspected brown heroin, cannabis, tapentadol, tramadol, pregabalin, and other drugs. The largest seizure was 349.36 grams of suspected brown heroin in Bardiya.

Police arrested 11 people in patrol operations across Chitwan, Kaski, Dang, Bhaktapur, Tanahu, Jhapa, Kailali, and Sunsari. Officers seized brown heroin and prescription drugs including diazepam, norfin, phenergan, tramadol, and promethazine.

Police arrested 16 people in Kathmandu and districts including Siraha, Kailali, Banke, Dhanusha, Kanchanpur, and Parsa in anti-drug operations. Officers seized marijuana and a brown-sugar-like substance, and investigations are ongoing.

The Narcotics Control Bureau arrested Prajwal KC in Kupandole, Lalitpur, and recovered 110 grams and 350 milligrams of brown heroin. Police said the suspect used CCTV, iron gates, dogs, phones, and SIM cards to avoid detection.

Police in Dhankuta seized more than 830 kilograms of marijuana and arrested seven people in a week-long string of anti-drug operations, including seizures from an electric vehicle and suspected heroin.

Police seized 775 kilograms of marijuana hidden in a mini truck on Koshi Highway in Dhankuta and arrested the driver during a routine inspection. The marijuana was concealed beneath sacks of potatoes inside the cargo compartment, with an investigation ongoing.
