Nepal Drug Trafficking Wave

In Madhesh Province, police arrested 2,811 drug users and traffickers over the past three years and registered 2,121 drug cases. Seized narcotics included 15,382 kilograms of ganja, opium, charas, heroin, tablets, and injections in a sustained crackdown.

Police shot and arrested Indian nationals Santosh Kumar Mahto (28) and Mithilesh Sahu (45) in Dhalkevar, Dhanusha, seizing 95.59 grams of brown heroin. The operation targeted cross-border drug trafficking.

Four individuals were arrested in Bhadrapur, Jhapa for smuggling brown heroin concealed inside a child's diaper. The suspects were caught during inspection of an auto vehicle arriving from India.
